Building Smart Connections with Customers
SCE has developed an industry leading approach to designing an infrastucture that provide smart connections to our 5 million small commercial and residential customers to enhance service reliability, provide service automation and create new opportunities for customer innovation to manage energy use. Today, energy efficiency and demand response are critical to meeting SCE's energy needs in an environmentally friendly way. Moving forward to meet the needs of SCE's customers, meet environmental goals and manage the grid efficiently and effectively SCE is doing even more - smart meters are a key component.

The GridWise Olympic Peninsula Testbed Demonstration ended on 1 April 2007. David will review some of the preliminary results obtained from the project, with particular emphasis on some of the utility and customer impacts that can be expected from the technologies and strategies employed.
