Session Overview
Interoperability and Regulation / Policy Issues
Track: GridWise: Towards a Smart Electric Grid
Thursday May/24/2007
11:00 - 12:30
Interoperability lies at the heart of the future of a smart electric grid. Interoperability will provide the tool for a broad range of devices, systems and businesses to exchange real-time and valuable information that will make the grid more efficient and secure.
Interoperability is not limited to grid devices and systems, but is an end-to-end view from generation to consumption; from the source of central and distributed generation to appliances and consumers of electricity.
This session will present a number of leading experts who will describe the current status of regulation and policy issues that will help the deployment of interoperable systems across the whole spectrum of the electric delivery system.
