In what is one of the most popular tracks at the past few years of BuilConn, the Web Services track will uncover the stratus of Web Services specially in the building system and energy management applications.

In a year that Buildings 2.0 is born, the Web Services track at BuilConn Chicago 2007 promises to be a most revealing in how this flexible technology can be adopted to satisfy the future of building.

Web Services Stories, Show & Tell

9:00 - 12:00

A number of vendors and integrators have been invited to participate in this session where the devices, laptops, infrastructure and tools will liberally used to demonstrate the flexibilities of Web Services.

The session will focus on:
- Case stories of Web Services implementations
- Demonstration of how Web Services is being implemented
- Look at the tools and challenges to using Web Services in building centric applications

Attendees are invited to participate with questions, suggestions and challenges to the assembled participants.

Web Services Technology & Standards Updates

13:00 - 16:00

The afternoon session is spent with a number of key individuals involved in the development of standards and products based on Web Services. Critical to this will be information drawn from major projects that have specified Web Services as part of their solution.

In this year's session, focus is being placed on non-traditional applications including:-
- oBIX and BACnet WS
- NBIMS and OGC
- GridWise Interoperability
- Security issues
- WS Components

Attendees to this session will gain an understanding on the breadth of technologies and standards that will start to converge and bring forth the broad implementation of Web Services in buildings and energy applications.
